Example of an Application of Photography

HISTORY OF PHOTOGRAPHY is a multi-disciplinary study. While academic photo-historians are often trained exclusively in Art History, many important accomplishments in photographic history can be traced to careful research using techniques and forms of critical analysis found in other disciplines. Here are citations of two such examples--significant breakthroughs in photographic history that happen to involve the Civil War
